Newsvine
I’ve just read about Newsvine over at Mike Davidson’s site, MikeIndustries. I’ve got to say, what a bloody neat idea.
I’ve got a lot of admiration for ideas like this, but how come I can’t come up with them? It is essentially a simple concept, letting people easily discuss news items, but as with most of the best ideas, it’s all about the execution. And from the sounds of it it will be a very clever tool and will generate large amounts of traffic.
It’s refreshing that it’s distancing itself from the whole Web 2.0 nonsense (c’mon guys, they’re all just websites), and I’m looking forward to seeing how they manage to organise such a large amount of content. Given Mike’s history, I have a feeling there might be a bit of sIFR thrown into the design too.
Head on over and sign up for updates if you’d like to get more information.
