Give It Up Or Turn It A Loose

James Brown Mugshot

I Feel Good. I just got my badself a ticket to see the Godfather of Soul, Soul Brother Number One, James Brown, at Wolverhampton Civic (yes, playing in Wolverhampton) in June. Front row seats too (at least I hope that’s what Row A means, knowing my luck they’ll have some reverse alphabetical system in place).

Mind you, for £40, he’d better be the Hardest bloody Working Man in Show Business, else I’ll want some Payback.

On a sadder note, R.I.P Lyn Collins, who died a couple of weeks ago aged 56. Discovered by James Brown, she’ll be remembered mainly for Think (About It), one of the funkiest and most sampled songs of all time.
